Emily Downs possesses extensive experience in materials science and engineering, currently serving as Lead Scientist at Hollingsworth & Vose since 2017, where involvement in non-woven research projects has been a key focus. Prior experience includes a role as a Researcher PhD Student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, conducting research on biological interactions with nanostructured surfaces and gaining skills in cell growth, protein purification, and nanoparticle synthesis. Emily also has a background in undergraduate research at Purdue University and Tsinghua University, complemented by a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Engineering from Purdue University.
