Laura Canty-Samuel serves as the Artistic Director at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since November 2022, focusing on revitalizing UCBTNY within the NYC comedy scene through new partnerships and enhanced diversity initiatives. As a Comedy Writer for Sesame Workshop and Holler, Laura develops engaging content for various platforms aimed at youth and family audiences. With a background as a stand-up comedian, writer, and actress since 2011, Laura has contributed to multiple well-known organizations, including ABC/Disney, CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase, and The Walt Disney Company. Educational credentials include completion of programs in Sketch, Improv, and Comedy Writing at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Public Communication from Brooklyn College.
