Jon Asbach has a diverse work experience that includes both private sector and military roles. Jon started their career in 2009 as an Information Technology Specialist and Information Assurance Security Officer in the Army National Guard. In this role, they configured and maintained computer networks in a Cisco-systems based networking environment. Jon worked in the Army National Guard until 2015.
In 2011, Jon joined HobbyTown as an Information Technology Support, where they provided IT Help Desk services for over 150 retail locations and ensured PCI-DSS compliant security measures for credit card transactions. Jon then progressed to the role of Sr. Information Technology Support, where they were responsible for setting up and maintaining computer systems and network-related equipment for retail sales and inventory functions.
In 2017, Jon became the IT Operations Manager at HobbyTown, where they supervised Help-Desk Operations and implemented best practices for regular IT processes. Jon also managed software development and IT support teams. In 2018, Jon was promoted to the role of Director of Information Systems, where they aligned information/communication systems and IT processes with business goals and integrated digital communication tools for the organization. Jon currently holds this position.
Jon Asbach attended the US Army Signal Regiment from 2009 to 2010, where they pursued a field of study in 25B Certified Information Technology Specialist. During their time there, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ (2008 edition) certification from CompTIA in July 2010. Additionally, they completed the Try Python course at Code School, although the specific month and year of completion are not provided.
