Lawrence Tucker has extensive experience in various medical roles. Lawrence has worked as the Medical Director of co-occurring psychiatric and addiction disorders at Hoag Hospital since 2019. Prior to that, Lawrence operated their own private general practice of Psychiatry & Neurology and Addiction Medicine since 2002. Lawrence has also served as the Medical Director at St Joseph Medical Center, where they oversaw the outpatient behavioral health unit and the ASPIRE program. Lawrence has held the position of Chief Medical Director and Owner at Windstone Behavioral Health Services, where they developed quality improvement systems and established a strong medical provider culture. Lawrence has also worked as a Medical Director at San Diego professional group, providing clinical and business leadership. Additionally, Lawrence has served as a Regional Medical Director at TeleDoc LLC and as a Medical Director at Residential Treatment Center Beachside/Sobertec/Affinity Residential Rehabs.

Lawrence Tucker received their Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Sciences from UCLA in 1998. From 1998 to 2002, they pursued further education at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, earning their M.D. degree in Medicine. In 2002, they completed a General Psychiatry Residency at the same institution. In 2012, Lawrence received training in Medical Radioisotope Handling and Hazmat Training for Radioactive Material at the Institute for Nuclear Medical Education. Lawrence obtained their California Medical License in November 2003. In 2010, they became a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and earned their Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. In 2011, they obtained their Texas Medical License, followed by a DEA License in November 2016. Later, Lawrence pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2018 to 2020. Additionally, in 2018, they obtained the Certified Physician Executive certification from the American Academy of Physician Leaders.
