Božidar Šikić was born on August 2, 1955 in Zagreb. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Lokomotiva Football Club and a graduated football coach, who in his long career has coached all ages, from beginners to seniors, and at one time was the selector of the Croatian national futsal team.
As the coach of Sesvete, he achieved a commendable result, winning a place in the First HNL, but, unfortunately, the club could not follow the first league ambitions.
He was the director of the football school of GNK Dinamo, which under his leadership grew into a European-recognized nursery of top football players. In addition, Božidar Šikić played an important role in the careers of many great Croatian players (Ćorluka, Modrić, Vrsaljko, Brozović, Badelj, Kovačić, Pjaca, Antolić…), whose talent he recognized and later greatly influenced their football maturation.
In his playing days, Božidar Šikić defended the colors of Zagreb and Lokomotiva, in which he is today one of the main bearers of successful overall activities. With his significant contribution from the quarterfinals, Lokomotiva has become a stable first league club, which achieves notable results on the domestic and European scene.
Božidar Šikić is one of the people who founded the International Junior Tournament "Mladen Ramljak", and in addition to successfully working for years in the Zagreb Football Association, he is a member of the Competition Commission and the Commission for Professional Football of the Croatian Football Association. Since December 2020, he has been an advisor to the President of the Croatian People's Party, Davor Šuker.
