Sonya K. has had extensive work experience in various healthcare organizations. Sonya started their career in 2004 at Novant Health, where they served as the Director of Patient Relations/Guest Services and later as the Manager of Support Services. During this time, they acted as a improvement coach, directed resources, and guided leadership to improve patient experience and customer service.

In 2012, Sonya joined George Washington University as the Manager of the Emergency Services Admissions Department, where they managed daily operations and a budget of $2.2 million.

From 2014 to 2017, they worked as the Special Billing Manager at Wake Forest Baptist Health, where they were responsible for medical billing, contract management, and denials.

Sonya also worked as an Independent Consultant under their own company, Sonya A. King, from 2005 to 2022. In this role, they provided support for new project development, system analysis, and training for various organizations.
