Derek Kohnle is an experienced engineer currently holding the position of Engineer 1 at Hitchiner Manufacturing since May 2021. Prior to this role, Derek served as a Resident Advisor at UMass Lowell Office of Residence Life from September 2018 to May 2021, where responsibilities included developing community-building events and guiding residents. Derek's background also includes experience as a Marketing Assistant and Mascot for UMass Lowell Athletics Marketing from September 2017 to March 2020, contributing to promotional events and fan engagement. A Mechanical Engineer Co-op Student at Kramer Scientific in summer 2019, Derek focused on assembling microscope sub-assemblies and designing custom solutions. Additionally, involvement with the Amesbury Energy Committee from July 2016 to July 2019 highlighted Derek's commitment to promoting renewable energy. Earlier work experience includes roles at Goodwill of Northern New England from November 2016 to January 2018. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
