Vladimir Romanov has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Vladimir started their career as an Engineer on the repair of rolling stock at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Locomotive Depot in 2011. Vladimir then moved on to become a Locomotive Engineer at the same depot in 2012. In this role, they were responsible for provisioning and preparing locomotives for train operations, examining and certifying trains for departure, and operating locomotives safely and efficiently.
In 2016, Romanov joined Bureau Veritas Group as a Rolling Stock Conformity Assessment Engineer, where they worked until 2020. During this time, they assessed and ensured conformity of rolling stock.
In 2020, they joined CERTIFER as a Conformity Assessment Engineer, where they worked until 2022. In this role, they assessed and confirmed conformity of various systems.
Most recently, in 2022, Romanov joined Hitachi Rail as a Lead System Assurance Engineer. In this global role, they are responsible for system RAMS assurance, safety case creation using the Goal Structuring Notation technique, as well as risk management through hazards identification and risk assessment.
Vladimir Romanov holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Railway Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Locomotives maintenance & operation management at the Far Eastern State Transport University from 2008 to 2013. In addition to their educational background, Vladimir has obtained certifications such as ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor from Bureau Veritas Certification in 2020 and ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor from Bureau Veritas (Professional Certification) in 2018.
