Michael Hay currently serves as Vice President Technology and Research at Hitachi Vantara since May 2023 and is the Founder and CEO of Mediumroast, Inc. since August 2018, where consulting services are offered for data-driven competitive analysis and product/service discovery. Previously, Michael held several leadership roles at Teradata, including Vice President of Product Management for Hybrid Clouds and Business Continuity as a Service from February 2019 to April 2023, focusing on Vantage on Hybrid/Private Clouds and disaster recovery services, and Senior Director of Product Management for Analytical Ecosystems. Prior experience includes Vice President & Chief Engineer and founder of the Strategic Planning Council at Hitachi Vantara from 2013 to 2018, as well as Vice President of Product Planning and Senior Director of Product Strategy at Hitachi Data Systems. Additional experience includes consulting for Invenio. Michael holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of New Mexico School of Engineering.
