Zoë Gatenby has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Zoë started their career as a Fitness Instructor at 1Life (Management Solutions) in November 2014 and worked there until March 2016. Following that, they joined the NHS as a Medical Receptionist in March 2016 and stayed until August 2017. Zoë then worked as an Office Administrator at Finevalley Communications Ltd. from August 2017 to August 2018. Zoë continued their administrative career at the Canadian High Commission, where they served as an Administrator from August 2018 to June 2023. Currently, they are working as a Business Support Executive at Historic Royal Palaces since June 2023.

Zoë Gatenby attended St Pauls Catholic College from 2006 to 2011. No degree or field of study was specified for this period. In 2008, they obtained the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award from The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
