Jorge Cruz currently serves as the Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) since March 2023. Previously, Jorge held multiple outreach and coordination roles including Legislative Aide at HACU, Outreach Coordinator at Stanford Sierra Youth & Families and Sierra Forever Families, and Field Fellow at the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, focusing on community engagement and advocacy against mass deportation practices. Additional experience includes work as an Anti-Trafficking Specialist at the International Rescue Committee and as a Public Health Research Project member at the California Department of Public Health, where Jorge conducted health-related surveys. Educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from California State University-Sacramento, obtained in 2017.
