Rachael Summers has a diverse work experience in various research-related roles. Rachael is currently working at Hippo Digital as the Head of User Research and previously held the position of Principal User Researcher. Prior to that, they worked at the University of Southampton, where they held multiple roles, including Visiting Research Fellow, Faculty Respiratory Research Fellow, Research Fellow, and Health Services Research Fellow. Rachael also worked at the UK Home Office as a Principal User Researcher and Senior User Researcher, and at the NHS Social Care Research Ethics Committee as an Expert Member. Additionally, they worked at NHS Digital as a User Researcher and at St. George's University of London as a PhD Research Student, where they conducted research on COPD and contributed to teaching and mentoring roles.
Rachael Summers has a diverse education history. Rachael started their educational journey at Rother Valley College from 1998 to 2000, where they pursued a City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. Later, they attended St. Martin's College from 2003 to 2006, where they earned a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Rachael then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Pain Science and Management at Keele University from 2006 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Services Research (Rehabilitation) from St George's, University of London between 2008 and 2013. Finally, in 2014 to 2015, Rachael studied at the University of Southampton, where they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, focusing on Education.
