John Fenn has extensive work experience spanning over three decades in the finance industry. John has held various leadership roles in reputable companies.
John's most recent position was as a Senior Managing Director at Hilco Global, where they led the Enterprise Valuation Services business. During their time there, they successfully diversified the company's focus from bank appraisal work to include other business valuation assessments. Under their leadership, the revenue of the division doubled in just three years, and they played a key role in expanding the team and recruiting senior-level partners.
Prior to joining Hilco Global, John worked at Berkeley Research Group LLC as a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance Group. John focused on alternative investments valuation services, particularly in distressed hedge funds, deep-value strategies, and middle-market lenders. John also played a role in business development in this position.
Before Berkeley Research Group, John was a Director in the Economic and Valuation Services division at KPMG LLP. John'sprimary responsibility was leading the fixed income valuation effort for alternative investments portfolios. John'sclient base included distressed and structured credit managers.
John also has extensive experience with high-yield investments. John worked at Citi for ten years, starting as a Desk Analyst and eventually becoming the Managing Director of the Desk Analyst team supporting high-yield, leveraged loan, and investment-grade trading. John successfully resurrected Citi's high-yield strategy product and built a highly respected strategy business. John also had a strategic call on the high-yield and leveraged loan market.
Earlier in their career, John was the Global Head of High Yield Investments at JPMorgan Investment Management, where they served as the lead portfolio manager for the firm's high-yield investments. John also worked at Invesco as a Senior High Yield Portfolio Manager and GE Capital as a High Yield Portfolio Manager and Credit Underwriter.
John started their career at Credit Suisse as an Associate Banker in the Global Project and Structured Finance division.
Throughout their career, John has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, driving growth, and successfully managing diverse portfolios within the finance industry.
John Fenn completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mathematics at City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College in 1984. After that, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance and Strategic Planning from The Wharton School, which they attended from 1988 to 1990.
