David Holmberg serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Highmark Health since May 2014, leading the organization through the challenging post-ACA era and spearheading the financial turnaround of Allegheny Health Network, which achieved 11 consecutive quarters of positive operating income before the COVID-19 pandemic and expanded to 14 hospitals and five multi-specialty medical malls in western Pennsylvania. Prior to this role, Holmberg was the President of Highmark Diversified Business at Highmark Inc. and served as the Chief Executive Officer of HVHC Inc. and Visionworks of America. Holmberg holds an MBA in Finance from Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas and an AMP in International/Global Studies from Harvard Business School.
