Meghana Desai RPh, BCGP is a seasoned pharmacy professional currently serving as Pharmacy Product Director and Sr. Pharmacist Care Management at Highmark Health Options since October 2018. In this role, Meghana leads the Opioid Management Team, providing evidence-based recommendations for alternatives to prescription opioids, advocating for the use of CDC guidelines for opioid prescribing, and conducting comprehensive reviews of members on opioid therapy to address medication-related issues. Prior experience includes serving as Pharmacy Supervisor at Christiana Care Health System, where Meghana managed outpatient care in collaboration with healthcare providers, and as a PRN Clinical Pharmacist at Rockford Medical Center, focusing on geriatric therapy. Over the years, Meghana has also held positions as Pharmacist in Charge and Staff Pharmacist at ShopRite Supermarkets and Walgreens, respectively. Meghana obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2000.
