Matthew Gudwin has over 15 years of experience in the film industry. Matthew began their career in 2002 as a Development Intern at Spike Lee's production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks. In 2003, they worked as an Equipment Assistant at Pier 59 Studios, where they were trained in manual and automatic freights and gained experience in Cyc painting/priming, special paint jobs, and more. In 2004, they worked as an Office Production Assistant at the Discovery Channel on the TV show "28 Days in Rehab". In 2006, they worked as a Boom Operator on the educational feature documentary "Some Assembly Required". From 2011 to 2013, they worked at Dramatic Forces, Akaya Films, and Dear Vista, Inc. as a Development Intern, Intern, and Production and set volunteer, respectively. In 2014, they worked as a Writer at Bitlanders. Since 2015, they have been working as a Stage Manager at Highline Stages, where they are an intuitive problem solver and confident delegator of responsibilities. Matthew has years of familiarity with bulbs, grip, lights, stands, etc. and experience with set safety measures, checking all stages and inspecting all areas pre and post production. Matthew is also experienced in making phone calls to various vendors for sub-renting purposes and performing building lock up at night.
Matthew Gudwin received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Screenwriting from the Brooks Institute in 2011. Prior to that, they attended The Marvelwood School.
