Leon Derrick has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Leon began their career as a Project Manager at Hart InterCivic from 1999 to 2000, where they were responsible for consulting with management, developing project plans, and preparing status reports.
Leon then joined ERCOT in 2000 and served as a Release Coordinator from 2006 to 2010. In this role, they utilized the ITIL approach and provided oversight and administration for hardware and software implementations and upgrades. Leon also acted as a liaison between the operations team and the business units.
Following their time at ERCOT, Leon worked at TEKsystems from 2011 to 2014 as an Application Manager. Leon managed various national and global Veterans Administration applications, including My HealtheVet, Bed Management System, Veterans Transportation System, and Journal for Rehabilitation Research. Leon handled configuration, change, release, incident, and service request management following ITIL guidelines.
Most recently, Leon is employed at Higher State Technology, LLC. since 2014 as the Director of Operations, where they are responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations.
Leon Derrick attended Mount Wachusett Community College from 1986 to 1988, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Following this, from 1987 to 1989, they pursued their education at Lesley University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
