John began his career at the global headÂquarÂters of Saatchi & Saatchi in LonÂdon. After honÂing his craft under the agency’s founders, MauÂrice and Charles, John headed West until he arrived at the Los AngeÂles office of TBWA\CHIAT\DAY. There, he led national accounts like EnerÂgizer and Taco Bell before ascendÂing to the rank of co-managing direcÂtor. In 1999, he left the agency to purÂsue his dream of ownÂing an ice cream parÂlor, hence becomÂing the sole proÂpriÂetor of the popÂuÂlar ManÂhatÂtan Beach CreamÂery. ProvÂing you can take the man out of EngÂland but you can’t take EngÂland out of the man, many of John’s cusÂtom conÂcocted ice cream flaÂvors included sigÂnifÂiÂcant quanÂtiÂties of lager, stout or ale—which may explain why small chilÂdren always left his shop feelÂing drowsy. After sellÂing the CreamÂery, John joined El Segundo-based marÂketÂing agency Ignited where he served as ExecÂuÂtive Vice PresÂiÂdent of StratÂegy and Account SerÂvices from 2004 to 2009.
