Chief Architect at Hicomply

Adam B. has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and architecture. Adam began their career in 2000 as a Placement Student at Lucent Technologies Bell Labs innovations. In 2002, they became an Associate Software Engineer at Acxiom, where they worked on data cleansing and processing pipelines using Perl, Unix and Bash scripting, Java, and Oracle RDBMS, as well as warehouse management software maintenance using Java, Unix and Oracle RDBMS and client portal development using ASP. Adam then moved to Hydratight in 2004, where they worked on E-commerce web development using ASP. NET with C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and SQL Server, as well as C++ MFC Windows Mobile application development. In 2005, Adam B. became a Software Engineer at Leighton, where they worked on SaaS web development using ASP. NET with C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and SQL Server. Adam then moved to Internetware in 2006, where they worked on SaaS mvc web development using MonoRail, C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL Server, MySQL, and various OSS frameworks, as well as integration platform and REST API development between various E-commerce and ERP systems. In 2010, Adam B. joined 4Projects as a Software Engineer, where they worked on SaaS web development using ASP. NET MVC with C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL Server, and various OSS frameworks. Adam then moved to Kykloud in 2011, where they were the VP Engineering and led software engineering in a SaaS start-up, which became a leading UK PropTech SaaS company, leading to its acquisition. Adam created the CI/CD pipeline and implemented an agile SDLC using test driven development, and defined the architecture using Domain Driven Design and developed a RESTful API first platform. In 2017, Adam B. joined Accruent as a Senior Application Architect, where they scaled a growth SaaS product globally by embracing cloud infrastructure, PaaS, and serverless technologies, and integrated with Accruent portfolio products and central platform (BI, SSO, API(M), ESB, etc) working alongside architects across multiple teams using enterprise integration patterns. Finally, in 2020, Adam B. became the Chief Architect at Hicomply, where they worked on software architecture and engineering in an InfoSec SaaS start-up. Adam designed and implemented the event-driven software architecture using CQRS and Event Sourcing, and designed and implemented the cloud-native architecture using PaaS, FaaS, and Container orchestration to implement an API first web application, API gateway, microservices, and serverless functions secured with OIDC/OAuth2.

Adam B. has an educational background in Computer Science. Adam obtained a BSc (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University between 1998 and 2002. Adam also has a number of certifications, including a Software Architect Learning Path from Security Innovation obtained in May 2020, a Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft obtained in January 2020, a Machine Learning certification from Coursera obtained in July 2017, an MCSA: Web Applications from Microsoft obtained in September 2016, an Exam 487: Developing Microsoft Azure and Web Services from Microsoft obtained in November 2013, an Exam 486: Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications from Microsoft obtained in October 2013, an Exam 480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 from Microsoft obtained in September 2013, and an Exam 70-315: Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET from Microsoft obtained in 2006.
