As a designer, David crafts beautiful, sustainable, and equitable architecture together with arts, cultural, and education clients. He seeks to make an impact for clients and communities through design excellence, service, and leadership. David’s design work has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the American Architecture Award, regional and national American Institute of Architects (AIA) awards, the AIA Henry Adams Gold Medal, the prestigious Ralph Rapson Traveling Fellowship, and the AIA Minnesota Young Architect Award. David has served in several leadership roles for the AIA in addition to his roles on the HGA National Sustainability Leadership Council and National Racial Equity Task Force. He actively leads community design workshops and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of architects and designers.
