Shay Akirav is a highly experienced professional in database security and software development, currently serving as the Director of the Database Protection Competence Center at Huawei Technologies since January 2017. Akirav has been integral to the company following its acquisition of Hexatier (formerly GreenSQL), where a role as VP of R&D has also been held since January 2015. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Riverscale as VP, Head of R&D, and at IBM as Senior Development Manager and Chief Architect, contributing significantly to the ProtecTIER development. Akirav's career also features roles at Diligent Technologies, EMC, and Tecnomatix Technologies, with educational qualifications including an MBA and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Economics from Tel Aviv University.
