Andrew Osborn is a Senior Scientist at Hexagon Bio since August 2022, previously working as a Scientist II at Joint Genome Institute from July 2019 to July 2022. Prior to that, Andrew was a PhD Candidate at Oregon State University College of Pharmacy from September 2014 to July 2019, focusing on evolutionary and biochemical studies of sugar phosphate cyclases and their gene clusters. With a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Bioresource Research, Andrew's research has involved high throughput mass spectrometry for natural products discovery, as well as characterizing novel genes through heterologous expression and bioassays. Andrew has also conducted biosynthetic studies and examined the impact of global regulators on biosynthesis processes.
