Mikaela Cave is a nursing student at Mercy College of Health Sciences since April 2019, bringing extensive laboratory experience from their role as a laboratory technician at Heska Corporation, which began in April 2017. Prior to these positions, Mikaela served as an academic assistant at Buena Vista University from August 2013 to May 2016, where responsibilities included laboratory preparation, conducting study sessions, grading, and maintaining cell culture lines. Additionally, Mikaela participated as a mentored summer research participant at Des Moines University in 2015, working under Dr. Andrew Brittingham on a research project. Mikaela holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Buena Vista University, completed in 2016, following education at Lamoni High School from 2008 to 2012.
