Kristen Brotherton has a strong background in human resources, with experience in various roles and companies. Kristen currently holds the position of Head of HR, Business Partnering at Herbert Smith Freehills since March 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of HR, Business Services at the same company from November 2019 to February 2023. Kristen also had the role of Acting HR Director, Australia from February 2022 to June 2022, and worked as a Change and Communications Manager from December 2018 to November 2019 at Herbert Smith Freehills.
Before joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Kristen briefly worked as the Head of HR, Capital Markets Corporate at MinterEllison in 2018. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior HR Manager at Herbert Smith Freehills from July 2017 to September 2018, and as a Human Resources Manager (Employment Law & Business Services) from August 2014 to June 2017.
Kristen's professional experience also includes working as the Head of People & Development (Contract) at Ambition Group Limited from November 2013 to July 2014. Kristen began their career at ANZ, where they took on various roles including HR Business Partner, Global Markets and Loans from February 2006 to October 2013, and Employee Relations Advisor from July 2004 to February 2006. Before that, they worked at KPMG as an HR Business Consultant/Acting National HR Manager, Tax from August 2003 to July 2004, and at AMP Financial Services as an HR Consultant from October 2000 to July 2003.
Kristen Brotherton attended the University of Wollongong from 1996 to 1999, where they pursued a degree in Commerce with a focus on Employment Relations. In May 2019, they obtained a certification as a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci ANZ.
