Elizabeth LaRue has a varied work experience in the fields of nursing and information sciences. Elizabeth began their career in 2005 as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Nursing Informatics Masters Program at the University of Pittsburgh - School of Nursing. In 2014, they were a Fulbright Scholar at the Kamuzu College of Nursing, University of Malawi. From 2016 to 2017, they were an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh - School of Information Sciences, a Research Project Director at Duquesne University, and a Fulbright Specialist at Edinburgh Napier University. In 2017, they became the Co-Founder of Hera Global Tech. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Member of the Board of Directors at Recovery Enhancement Solutions, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh - School of Nursing, and an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer at Saybrook University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, School of Information Sciences, respectively.
Elizabeth LaRue completed their PhD in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. Elizabeth obtained their Masters in Library Science from the same institution in 1995. Elizabeth also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has taken courses at the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music. LaRue also holds a Integrative Saybrook Certification in Teaching Excellence (InSCiTE) from Saybrook University, obtained in April 2021.
