Gerry McAnally

Head of IP at Heptares Therapeutics

Gerry McAnally has several years of experience in intellectual property (IP) and patent law. Gerry is currently serving as the Head of IP at Sosei Heptares since September 2022. Prior to that, Gerry worked at Gyroscope Therapeutics, where they held various positions, including Vice President Intellectual Property, Sr. Director and Head of IP, and Director of IP, between 2018 and 2022. Before joining Gyroscope Therapeutics, they worked at BTG plc as a Senior Patent Attorney from September 2011 to December 2017. Gerry also has experience working at Dstl, where they served as a Patent Attorney from March 2003 to August 2011 and as a Research Scientist from March 2001 to March 2003. Their career began at the University of Strathclyde as a post-doctoral researcher from November 1999 to March 2001.

Gerry McAnally completed their education in a chronological order. They began by earning a Bachelor of Science with Honors (BSc Hons) degree in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry, achieving a first-class classification, from the University of Strathclyde. This was accomplished between 1991 and 1996. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the same institution, successfully completing it from 1996 to 1999. Later, in 2003 and 2004, Gerry obtained a Post-graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London. Finally, in 2014 and 2015, they attended Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University, where they obtained a Certificate in Intellectual Property Litigation and Intellectual Property Advocacy.
