Anzar Asad began their work experience as an Industrial Placement Student at Sosei Heptares in September 2019, where they worked until December 2019. During this time, they gained valuable experience in the field. In November 2019, Asad also participated in the Biochemical Society Drug Repurposing Conference, where they focused on screening small molecule libraries to identify compounds that could rescue ear and myelination defects. Before their placement, Asad was involved in a similar project at the International FishMed Conference in March 2018. As of October 2021, Asad now holds the position of Research Scientist at Sosei Heptares.
Anzar Asad began their education journey at Birkdale School from 2010 to 2012, where they completed their A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. Anzar then went on to Newcastle University from 2013 to 2016, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Following their undergraduate studies, Anzar attended The University of Sheffield from 2016 to 2017 for a Master of Science in Translational Neuroscience. Anzar then continued their education at The University of Sheffield and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences from 2017 to 2021.
