Training And Skills Manager at Henry Royce Institute

Tom Hancocks is currently serving as the Training and Skills Manager at the Henry Royce Institute since October 2021, where responsibilities include leading the training strategy focused on public and schools outreach, student engagement, and technical skills development for researchers. Prior to this role, Tom Hancocks worked at the EMBL-EBI from October 2012 to September 2021 as a Scientific Training Officer, designing and delivering bioinformatics training workshops globally and online, and organizing knowledge exchange workshops. Earlier experience includes positions as a Bioinformatics Training Officer at The Nowgen Centre and NGRL-Manchester, developing training courses for researchers, and as a Cytogenetics Technologist at the Central Manchester & Manchester Children's Foundation Trust. Tom Hancocks holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Genetics from the University of Leeds and a Master's degree in Analytical Genomics from the University of Birmingham, along with additional academic credentials from McMaster University and the University of Leeds.
