Alastair Penman serves as a Professor of Saxophone and Visiting Professor of Saxophone and Electronics at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama since October 2018. As a prominent artist, Alastair is affiliated with Henri SELMER Paris and Vandoren UK. In addition to performing as a baritone saxophonist with the Kaleidoscope Quartet and a soprano saxophonist in the Borealis Saxophone Quartet, Alastair has extensive freelance experience as a saxophonist and clarinetist since January 2006. Alastair has also contributed to music education as a woodwind teacher at Hillingdon Music Service, Thorpe House School, and Harefield Academy. Alastair holds a Master's degree in Saxophone Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music and possesses advanced degrees in Information and Computer Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
