Jos van der Zanden is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management and technical advisory roles, particularly in biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods. Currently serving as the Regional Manager for the Biotrade Project at Helvetas, Jos oversees initiatives in Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar focused on market systems for food and cosmetics. Previous positions include Chief Technical Advisor for the Gulf of Mottama Project, Coordinator of Biodiversity & Conservation at IUCN Bangladesh, and Associate Country Director for Oxfam Novib in Zimbabwe. With a strong background in engaging with international organizations and a solid educational foundation in Animal Husbandry from Wageningen University & Research, Jos has contributed to various initiatives addressing socio-economic rehabilitation and sustainable development across multiple regions.
