Ryder Pearce has had a diverse range of work experience. Ryder began their career as a Project Manager / Urban Fellow at the New York City Department of Transportation in 2006. Ryder then worked as a Project Manager at the Georgian Reconstruction and Development Company in 2008. In 2010, they served as a Transportation Specialist at the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy. Ryder went on to work as an Urban Planning Lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2011, while also serving as a Researcher for the Gulf Encyclopedia of Sustainable Urbanism at Harvard University. Ryder then joined TransLink as a Planner in Strategic Planning & Policy from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, Ryder founded Pogoride, a platform for regional ridesharing and travel. Ryder later co-founded SherpaShare in 2014. In 2016, they founded YoGov, which eventually became Skip, a government services marketplace that they continued to serve as CEO of until the present.

Ryder Pearce's education history includes a Master in Urban Planning, specializing in Transportation & Urban Design, from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Prior to that, Ryder obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Vassar College.
