Andrew Burns is an experienced professional in engineering and project management, currently serving as the Head of Decarbonization and Process Innovation at HeidelbergCement since May 2015, where involvement includes directing the Brevik CCS project aimed at capturing 400,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. Previous roles at HeidelbergCement include Director of Engineering for Europe, Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean, and Director of Global Engineering. Prior experience spans positions at Holcim Technology, Polysius AG, CEMEX, EPCOR, and Westinghouse Electric Company, covering a range of project management and engineering roles. Andrew Burns holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, earned between 1984 and 1988.
