Renuka Velu is currently a Master's thesis student and student research assistant at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) since June 2023. Previously, Renuka served as a student research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy from August 2022 to April 2023 and was involved with Slooh as a Space Ambassador and Astronomy Club Member from August 2020 to March 2023. Renuka also completed a research internship at the Society for Space Education Research and Development (SSERD) in mid-2020 and contributed to a Guinness World Record project focused on light pollution awareness as part of the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance. Renuka is pursuing a Master's degree in Physics at Heidelberg University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Madras, completed in 2020.
