Andrea Avena

Chief Operating Officer at Hector Kitchen

Andrea Avena has a diverse work experience, starting as an Executive Assistant to the CEO at Della Pia Group in 2012. In 2013, they worked as an Assistant to the CEO at FORNITURE TESSILI CIMMINO S.R.L.

In 2015, Andrea joined Holidog, where they initially served as the Country Manager for Italy. Andrea managed a team, optimized operations, expanded revenue channels, and executed the global pet-sitter acquisition. Andrea achieved significant milestones, including finalizing revenue-sharing partnerships with major Italian NGOs and acquiring 90k new pet-sitter users in 5 months. Under their leadership, Italy became the fastest-growing market in 2015. Additionally, they successfully introduced an automated system to increase the likelihood of first bookings.

After their role as Country Manager, Andrea became an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) at Holidog for a few months in early 2015.

Lastly, Andrea's most recent experience is as the Chief Operating Officer at Hector Kitchen, starting in 2018. In this role, they lead an international team and focuses on cross-functional collaboration with department heads to drive growth. Andrea also plays a key role in building the team and fostering a strong team culture.

Andrea Avena completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business/Managerial Economics at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. Following this, from 2013 to 2016, they pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management at Luiss Guido Carli University. In 2014, Andrea also attended WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Administration and Management, General.
