Dr. Sohail Munir is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and emerging technologies, currently serving as an Adviser at SDAIA since October 2023 and as a Senior Advisor at NEOM since June 2022. Dr. Munir has previously held significant roles in Digital Dubai, focusing on digital transformation and smart city initiatives, and founded Posiscan, where biometric verification mechanisms for mobile SIM issuance were developed. As the CEO of Uffaq Technologies, Dr. Munir led major digital transformation projects in Pakistan’s defense sector and has co-founded companies such as Orocom and Oratel. Early career experiences include technical roles at Lucent Technologies and network/system administration at The Ohio State University. Dr. Munir holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Engineering from The George Washington University and a Master of Science in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
