Matthew Angel is an experienced music educator and performer, currently serving as the Strings Teacher and Orchestra Director for the Elementary Music Program at Claremont Unified School District since October 2018. Additionally, Matthew holds the position of Orchestra Coordinator at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), focusing on orchestral management and recruitment. As a co-founder and violist of The L8 Quartet since November 2012, Matthew actively performs at various events across Southern California. With a strong background in private instruction since January 2011, Matthew specializes in teaching violin and viola to students of varying levels. Other notable positions include instructing at Neighborhood Music School and previously with the Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra and the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra. Matthew's educational background includes a certification in commercial music from Los Angeles City College and formal training at the Saturday Conservatory of Music Pasadena.
