Shelly Lucas has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Shelly is currently serving as the Vice President of Program Delivery at Heart of America. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Institutional Giving at the Greater Twin Cities United Way from 2018 to 2020. Before that, they were an Independent Consultant/Corporate Giving Lead at St. Jude Medical (now Abbott) from 2016 to 2017. Shelly also held roles at UnitedHealth Group, where they served as the Vice President of Grants & Programs and Director of Community Affairs from 2008 to 2016. Additionally, they worked at Target as a Manager and Senior Specialist in Community Relations from 2003 to 2008. Shelly started their career as the State Director of Program Services at March of Dimes from 1999 to 2003. Throughout their career, Shelly has managed significant budgets, led cross-functional teams, and overseen strategic collaborations with nonprofit partners.
Shelly Lucas completed their Bachelor of Arts in Community Health Education from the University of Northern Iowa from 1992 to 1997. After that, they went on to pursue a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Minnesota, which they completed in the years 1997 to 1999.
