Alana Biggers serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago since September 2014 and fulfills multiple leadership roles, including Associate Program Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and Co-Chair of the Department of Medicine Inclusion Council. Additionally, Alana has been a Medical Content Reviewer for Healthline Media since April 2016 and trained as an Internal Medicine Resident Physician at the Medical College of Wisconsin from June 2011 to June 2014, where research focused on health disparities among breast cancer patients. Previous experience includes roles as a Public Health Analyst with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a CDC Research Fellow at the Association of Schools of Public Health. Education credentials include an MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, an MPH from Tulane University School of Medicine, and a B.S. in Biology/Political Science from Furman University.
