Tom Carey has a diverse work experience in the field of cyber and privacy. Tom has served as Vice President of Cyber & Privacy at HealthEquity since May 2020, where they lead various teams and oversees security operations, privacy, data governance, and compliance. Prior to that, they worked as Director of Cyber Defense at GE Healthcare from September 2018 to May 2020. Tom also held positions at Synchrony Financial, Decision Advantage Consulting, GE, and the U.S. Coast Guard, where they gained expertise in incident management, intelligence analysis, and engineering.

Tom Carey attended the US Coast Guard Academy where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research & Computer Analysis. Tom also obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in October 2017.
