Melissa Saxby has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Melissa started their career in 1998 at Manpower, where they worked in recruitment for management and consulting roles for seven years. Melissa then worked as a contractor for various companies before joining Galaxy Recruitment as a Recruitment Consultant in 2010. In 2011, Melissa worked as a Human Resources Contractor for the NSW Ambulance Service.
From 2013 to 2016, Melissa worked at UXC Connect, where they served as a P&C Advisor and later as a P&C Business Partner. During this time, they provided generalist support, advice, and coaching to the Senior Leadership Team and played a crucial role during the integration process.
Melissa joined Fujitsu Australia Limited in 2016 as a Senior HR Consultant in Employee Relations and later became a Human Resources Business Partner. In these roles, they focused on managing employee relations, providing industrial relations advice, and implementing HR solutions aligned with business strategy.
In 2018, Melissa joined InvoCare as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner and eventually became the Head of HR Business Partnering in 2019. In this senior leadership position, they worked closely with business leaders to deliver the company's strategic plan, focusing on ER/IR, talent, recruitment, and program management activities.
Currently, Melissa holds the position of Head of People & Culture at Healthdirect Australia, a government-funded not-for-profit organization in the digital health industry. In this role, they lead a team of 8 and is responsible for transforming the People and Culture function to support strategic business outcomes.
Melissa's work experience showcases their expertise in HR strategy, talent management, employee and industrial relations, and program management. Melissa has also demonstrated their ability to drive organizational change and develop high-performance cultures.
Melissa Saxby has a Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing and Tourism, which they obtained from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 1991 to 1993. From 1991 to 1993, they also pursued a Diploma in Export Management from The Australian Institute of Export.
Later, from 2009 to 2012, Melissa completed a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Community Engagement and Transformation from the University of Southern Queensland.
In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the following: Certified Organisational Coach Level 1 from the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL) in 2023, Mental Health First Aider from MHFA in November 2022, Foundations of Directorship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2022, Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci in 2021, and Targeted Selection Interview Facilitator from DDI | Development Dimensions International in 2015.
