Greg Dering has extensive work experience in the mining and exploration industry. Greg currently serves as the Vice President of Exploration at Headwater Gold Inc. since November 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as the Exploration Manager at the same company from February 2022 to December 2022. Before joining Headwater Gold, Greg worked as a Senior Geologist at the company from September 2018 to May 2022. Greg also gained experience as a Geologist at the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology in 2013. Additionally, Greg worked as a Field Geologist at Newmont Mining Corp for a brief period in 2013. Greg started their career in 2008 as a Minesite Exploration Geologist at Barrick Gold Exploration, where they worked until 2010.

Greg Dering's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Geology with Honors from Whitman College, which they obtained between 2003 and 2007. Greg then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Geology at the University of Nevada, Reno from 2011 to 2013. Following this, they completed a PhD at The University of Western Australia from 2014 to 2018, with a focus on the Centre for Exploration Targeting.
