Beth Helwig has extensive experience in social services, currently serving as a Homeless Program Case Manager at HDC since January 2023. Prior to this role, Beth worked as a Shelter Advocate at Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center from March 2021 to January 2023 and as a Youth Advocate at Life House, Inc. from December 2018 to June 2020. Additional experience includes a position as a Mental Health Practitioner at Human Development Center for a short duration in late 2018 and serving as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist at Duluth Bethel from September 2014 to October 2018, where Beth also held the role of Chemical Dependency Technician. Beth began a career in communication as a Writer/Editor and Classified Advertising Consultant at Duluth Budgeteer News from September 2004 to May 2006. Beth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and English from Coe College, obtained between 1981 and 1985.
