Nico Zurcher is a Principal Associate and Business Development Manager at Hawkins & Associates, where responsibilities include conducting investigations into marine fires and explosions on various vessels since November 2015. Prior to this role, Nico served as Regional Director and Senior Associate at HFS-Asia, contributing to marine and land-based fire investigations across Asia from 2011 to 2015, as well as engaging in business development efforts. Earlier experience includes working as an Associate Consultant at ERM, focusing on environmental impact assessments for the oil, gas, and mining sectors, and as a researcher at The University of Hong Kong, where involvement in aquatic toxicology and ecological risk assessments took place. Nico holds an MSc in Environmental Management from The University of Hong Kong and a BSc in Biology with Oceanography from the University of Southampton.
