Timothy Kurp

Principal Engineer at HawkEye 360

Timothy Kurp has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Timothy started their career at the University of Connecticut as a Research Assistant, where they conducted thesis research under a grant. Their responsibilities included investigating data acquisition strategies in wireless sensor networks and designing algorithms to improve power efficiency on wireless sensor nodes.

After completing their role as a Research Assistant, Timothy joined MITRE as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Timothy specialized in signal processing, particularly in relation to military communications and positioning, navigation, and timing technologies. At MITRE, they designed, implemented, and tuned an acquisition and tracking architecture for a high data rate wireless communications receiver. This involved developing third order tracking loops for symbol recovery, phase recovery, and coarse frequency aided acquisition.

Currently, Timothy is employed at HawkEye 360 as a Senior Signal Processing Engineer. Timothy previously held the position of Principal Engineer but has since transitioned to their current role. Unfortunately, specific start and end dates for this role are not provided. However, it can be assumed that they have been working in this position since at least January 2021.

Overall, Timothy Kurp has gained extensive experience in signal processing, wireless communications, and power efficiency optimization throughout their career.

Timothy Kurp obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics from Seton Hall University in the years 2005-2009. Timothy then pursued further education and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering specialized in Controls from the University of Connecticut between the years 2009 and 2011.
