Elena Kamis has a diverse work experience starting from 2013 as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at Eagle Ridge Recreation Association, where they taught swimming to children and provided life-saving services. In 2017, they worked as a Quality Engineering Intern at GE Aviation, followed by a Systems Engineering Co-op role at Moog Inc. in 2018. Moving on, they interned as an Operations Intern at HawkEye 360 in 2019 and as a Mission Control and Operations Engineering Intern at Ball Aerospace in 2020.

Elena'sprofessional journey continued, with their rejoining HawkEye 360 in 2021 as an Associate Systems Operations Engineer, focusing on operations in the space industry. Elena later transitioned to the role of a System Operations Engineer and is currently working as a Collection and Capacity Manager.

During their years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, from 2016 to 2021, Elena Kamis worked as a student. Throughout their varied roles, they have gathered valuable experience and skills, driving their growth in the fast-paced and dynamic companies they have been a part of.

Elena Kamis obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Orchard Park High School from 2012 to 2016. During high school, Elena focused their studies on science and math, earning an Advanced Regents Diploma with a concentration in those subjects.
