Jerae Kelly currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and as an Adult Basic Education Instructor for the Hawaii State Department of Education, focusing on tutoring incarcerated individuals seeking their GED. Prior experience includes the role of Education Specialist III at the State of Hawaii Department of Public Safety and a PhD student at the University of Maryland. Jerae’s teaching background encompasses a position as a Special Education Teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools and a residency in English Language Arts at the Urban Teacher Center. Jerae's education includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Maryland, a Master's degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Lesley University, and a Bachelor of Arts in War Studies from The Evergreen State College.
