Bill McKendry is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer of BrandHaven since January 2018. Prior to that, they had extensive experience in the advertising and nonprofit sectors. In 1994, they co-founded Hanon McKendry, an advertising agency that dedicated a significant portion of its efforts to working with nonprofits. Bill also served as the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Hanon McKendry until October 2015.
In 1999, Bill launched Do More Good as a passion project to support causes and nonprofits. Bill was also the Founder and Board President of Do More Good.
Bill was one of the founders of Compass Arts, a nonprofit film production studio that later evolved into Compass College of Film and Media. Bill served as the Chairman of the Board for the organization's first nine years and continues to be actively involved as a Board Member.
In 2007, Bill McKendry became a Founding Partner of Gravity Alliance, an alliance of advertising firms in West Michigan. Although the alliance is no longer formally operating, some partner agencies still collaborate on specific clients and initiatives.
From November 2015 to December 2017, Bill served as the Vice Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of JDA Worldwide, overseeing creative efforts in the firm's six offices.
Throughout their career, Bill McKendry has worked with various corporate clients, including Target Stores, Rubbermaid, Owens Corning, and Harper Collins. Their work has resulted in over 1,200 award-winning marketing campaigns and branding efforts for a diverse range of regional, national, and international nonprofit and corporate clients.
Bill McKendry attended the University of Denver from 1983 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Marketing and Advertising.
