Michael Dial serves as a General Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners since 2009, contributing to a venture capital firm that specializes in early-stage company development. Currently, Michael is part of the UNC/NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering Industry Advisory Board and holds roles as a Professor of the Practice at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Fund Manager at Carolina Research Ventures Fund, both since 2017 and March 2016 respectively. Previous experience includes serving as VP and Relationship Manager at SVB Financial Group, where responsibilities included sourcing and negotiating debt deals for life science ventures, as well as research roles at the UNC-Duke Michael Hooker Proteomics Facility and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Michael Dial earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
