Jon Droneck's work experience includes the following positions and roles:
- Controls Engineer at Hartfiel Automation (2018 - present): Jon is responsible for designing and programming basic and automated functionality for various applications, integrating automated equipment with existing infrastructure, and developing operator interface visualizations.
- Multi-Skills Maintenance Intern at 3M (2018): Jon gained understanding of production processes and quality systems, made improvements to machine processes by adding sensors, controls, and wiring, and created and modified PLC programming.
- Beachmaster Unit One at US Navy Reserve (2017 - 2018): Jon led a squad of 9 personnel in beach landings and provided mentoring and training to 30 junior sailors.
- Shop Maintenance at McCormick Construction Company (2016 - 2018): Jon performed maintenance on trucks, forklifts, and other vehicles, tested and repaired power tools and equipment, and maintained inventory and cleanliness of the shop area.
- Operations Department Leading Petty Officer and Operations Center Watch Assistant at Commander Submarine Force Pacific Fleet Command Center (2013 - 2016): Jon managed waterspace assignments, monitored submarine operations, and mentored and trained junior sailors. Jon also oversaw message screening and qualifications, and ensured completion of training topics for the Operations Department.
- Electronics Technician Navigation at USS La Jolla (SSN 701) - US Navy (2009 - 2013): Jon played a pivotal role in the Navigation Department's success during multiple deployments and evaluations, preparing navigation plans and material for various missions.

Jon Droneck attended Dunwoody College of Technology from 2021 to 2023, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Automation and Controls Engineering Technology. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2019, they studied at Hennepin Technical College and earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Jon also obtained a Diploma in Controls Engineering Technician from the same institution during that time. In terms of additional certifications, Jon obtained the Mechatronics Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) 2 certification from PMMI: The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies in December 2021. Jon also earned a Mechatronics Industrial Electricity 1 certification from the same institution in May 2018 and a Mechatronics Mechanical Components I certification in December 2017. Furthermore, in June 2010, Jon received the Enlisted Submarine Warfare certification from the US Navy.
