James Keal is a Machine Learning Engineer at harrison.ai since November 2022, with prior experience as a Software Engineer at Micro-X, where responsibilities included writing embedded control systems for medical devices and contributing to radiation shielding design for x-ray imaging products. Previous roles include an internship at Defence Science and Technology Group, applying machine learning to defense applications, and software engineering positions at Quantum Code, where James implemented online services and led projects, and as a self-employed web developer. James's foundational experience as a concreter and stonemason at P. Cotter & Son helped develop important business skills. Academically, James is pursuing a PhD in Medical Physics with a focus on machine learning in radiation oncology at the University of Adelaide, having also completed an Honours degree in Medical Physics and a Bachelor's degree in High Performance Computational Physics.
